AirCodec release notes

Each AirCodec release is listed here, newest first, with what is in it and its known issues. Read the notes for the version you install; the licence agreement asks you to (Section 14.6).

AirCodec never updates itself. In Settings, Updates, you choose when to check for a new release, download it and install it. Every update runs the AirCodec installer, which shows the licence agreement then in effect.

AirCodec 1.1.272

Released 9 October 2026.

In this release

  • Emergency audio is played by AirCodec's audio engine, timed by the sound card itself, so it plays without skipping.
  • Emergency audio skips the silence at the end of a cut, keeps the overlap short for brief sweepers, and plays the legal ID at the top of the hour.
  • Emergency audio plays MP3 and WAV files, including compressed WAV: A-law, µ-law, IMA ADPCM, Microsoft ADPCM and MPEG audio inside WAV.
  • The installer shows the AirCodec End User Licence Agreement, version 1.3, which must be accepted before AirCodec installs.
  • Settings, Licence opens the licence agreement, the privacy notice, these release notes, the third-party notices and FusionAir support on fusionair.net.

Known issues

  • Emergency audio plays MP3 and WAV files only. A WAV file holding any other kind of audio, such as GSM 6.10, is passed over, and the activity log says what it holds so it can be saved again as PCM WAV or MP3.
